Profile

Shao is keen on investigating the role of mitochondria in tumor evolution and immunity through using cutting-edge molecular techniques. In 2021, Shao has finished his Master degree from Yantai University with the major of Cytobiology. Shao focused on anti-tumor of natural compounds and explored the cytotoxicity of Xanthohumol on C6 cells with testing mitochondrial functions. As of 2022, Shao as an PhD candidate join in the Oncofetal Ecosystem Lab at Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, under the guidance of Dr. Ankur Sharma and Ms. Jennifer Currenti. Herein, Shao will carry out experiments on patient samples in vitro to research oncofetal reprogramming and mitochondrial conditions in HCC under immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy by harnessing single cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics and so on. Other interests include basketball, reading and movies.
