Jessica Gornall

Jessica Gornall is a Research Officer in the Melanoma Discovery Lab at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology from Curtin University and has more than five years experience working as a Research Assistant.

Jessica’s current work focuses on processing blood samples for ECU’s Cancer Blood Biomarkers Study and processing tumour samples for the Perkins Cancer Biobank.

Other aspects of her role include:

  • Culturing TILs and tumour cell lines for use in co-culture experiments
  • Ordering and stocktake of lab consumables and reagents for the group
  • Organisation of the lab, including keeping updated records of all the samples collected and cryopreserved for the Biobank.
