Profile
Dr. Saman Sargazi is an award-winning Clinical Biochemist with 7+ years of experience advancing precision medicine through translational research. His work bridges clinical biochemistry with molecular and nanoscale technologies to address unmet biomedical needs, with expertise in molecular biology, biomarker discovery and nanobiochemistry. He is also committed to research excellence and team development, having mentored trainees and colleagues while helping streamline experimental workflows and strengthen reproducibility across projects.
He has been recognised as a Top 2% Global Scientist (Elsevier/Stanford, 2023–2025) and has authored 159 peer-reviewed publications with a Scopus H-index of 38, reflecting sustained contributions to high-impact biomedical research.
At the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research within the Chromatin & Ageing laboratory, Saman’s current research focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms of ageing. He investigates how chromatin organisation and epigenetic regulation shape cellular identity over time, influence genome function and contribute to age-associated decline. His long-term goal is to translate mechanistic insight into actionable therapeutic strategies – identifying targets and developing approaches that can modulate epigenetic states to promote healthier ageing and support anti-ageing interventions.
