Profile

Dr. Heloisa Alves is currently appointed as a Research Assistant at the Perkins Cancer Biobank, part of the Translational Cancer Research Program at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. She earned a BSc in Pharmacy in 2014, followed by a PhD in Health Sciences from the Interdisciplinary Program in Health Sciences at Cruzeiro do Sul University, Brazil, in 2018. During her doctoral study, she spent a year at Curtin University’s School of Biomedical Sciences in 2017.


Dr. Alves commenced her tenure at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in 2022 and later joined the Perkins Cancer Biobank team in 2023. Her primary responsibilities include biobanking and biospecimen processing for downstream genomics applications.


Throughout her career, Dr. Alves has actively participated in a broad array of research initiatives, reflecting her commitment to advancing multiple scientific projects. Her valuable contributions underscore her dedication and willingness to support a wide range of scientific pursuits.
