Strong community support and generous sponsorship has helped make the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkins a resounding success bringing people together with a shared purpose — to support life-saving cancer research at Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
The financial, in-kind support and commitment of the sponsors has allowed the MACA Cancer 200 to celebrate its 15th year and has seen the event raise more than $82M, fuelling dozens of cancer breakthroughs and accelerating research that is changing lives.
Every dollar represents effort and endurance and every breakthrough, a reminder of why this Ride matters.
Title Partner MACA’s unwavering loyalty as a long-standing partner of the MACA Cancer 200 has driven more than $21M of the event’s $82M raised for WA cancer research at the Perkins.
Riding since 2012 and leading as Title Partner since 2014, MACA’s enduring commitment reflects a powerful vision – for longer, healthier lives for their people and the community they proudly support.
MACA is an inaugural member of the Million Dollar Club, a club of bike riders whose teams have raised more than $1M in total.
Partnerships such as MACA’s are rare and the Perkins is proud to have them riding alongside the Perkins in the fight to end cancer.
Major Partner, Mineral Resources (MinRes) is a long-standing supporter of the Perkins and has shown enduring commitment to improving health outcomes for West Australians.
They are dedicated supporters of cardiovascular research at the Perkins as well as Title Partner for the Perkins Plunge Powered by MinRes.
This year, they step into the role of Major Partner for the Ride.
With one of the largest teams in the MACA Cancer 200 and as an inaugural Million Dollar Club member, MinRes has raised more than $3M for life-changing cancer research – driven by a shared vision for healthier futures and lasting impact
Event Partner Woodside Energy’s long-standing loyalty as an Event Partner continues to make a powerful impact on the MACA Cancer 200 and those in the community facing a cancer journey.
Through their generous Dollar Match initiative, they double Riders’ donations – helping many reach and exceed their fundraising goals – accelerating vital cancer research at the Perkins. In August, the Woodside Energy Dollar Match was a record-breaker for the event raising more than $651K in one day.
With a dedicated team of Riders from across their workforce, Woodside Energy’s ongoing commitment reflects a shared vision for healthier lives and stronger communities.
Established with founding members MACA, Mineral Resources, WesTrac and WA Limestone, the Perkins Alliance brings together leading organisations across the mining, construction and resources sectors, united by a shared vision for stronger communities and better health outcomes in WA.
Through unwavering commitment, founding members and partners provide vital in-kind support and subsidised services – maximising every dollar raised and driving greater impact for cancer research at the Perkins.
Official sponsors include WesTrac, Thiess, Northern Star, CJD Equipment and ETT.
Perkins CEO, Professor Peter Leedman AO recognises in fundraising the corporate partners, staff, participants and volunteers who continue to set the bar high.
“Funds raised demonstrate an extraordinary show of gratitude and determination by the Riders,” he said.
“These funds are hard at work powering the next cancer breakthrough here in WA.
“I would also like to give a big shout out to the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkins volunteers who have been the quiet force powering every kilometre, every rest stop and every Rider’s journey.
“Rising before dawn and working long after sunset, they give their time, energy and heart without expecting recognition – fuelled instead by a shared belief in a future free from cancer.”
What began 15 years ago as a single long-distance ride has grown into an iconic fundraising and community movement, powered by the commitment of riders, volunteers, corporate partners and supporters who return year after year.
Over this time, the event has built momentum and a powerful sense of collective action – uniting people from across WA, Australia and the world to ride, fundraise and stand alongside those affected by cancer.
Its longevity reflects deep trust, strong partnerships and a clear mission, with funds raised helping WA researchers translate discoveries into real world outcomes for patients.
Just as importantly, the event gives people a meaningful way to honour loved ones, channel hope into action and be part of something bigger than themselves.
After 15 years, the MACA Cancer 200 is more than a Ride – it’s a symbol of endurance, progress and the belief that together, we can beat cancer.
