“But they’re so little…
That’s what I said when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, just days after marrying Aaron, the love of my life and dad to our two beautiful kids.
What should’ve been the happiest time of our lives quickly became the hardest.
A mastectomy. Chemo. Early menopause. Watching my hair fall out. Telling my parents. Telling my kids. And holding Aaron as we cried in the car together after hearing the news.
It’s been six months since I finished treatment. My hair’s growing back.
I’m sharing my story because I want to help more families to get through what we’ve faced. And I know that research from the Perkins is a lifeline.
The work they do gives people like me—like all of us—hope.
Together we can stick up for those affected by cancer.
