Dr Jennifer Burchell is a Research Associate and Program Lead in the Rare Disease Genetics and Functional Genomics Group at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Jen completed her PhD at Telethon Kids Institute focussing on the immunology and physiology of paediatric asthma. She has since worked in various fields including research into cardiovascular disease,  science writing, science communication and immunological diagnostics.

Prior to this, Jen worked in the Cancer Microenvironment Lab at the Perkins, with Professor Ruth Ganss, and has also worked in the Lotterywest BioDiscovery Centre at the Perkins, engaging students in STEM and encouraging careers in science.
