Profile
Dr Jamie Bellinge is a Nuclear Medicine Physician with research interests in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging and cardiovascular disease. His research focuses on applying advanced molecular imaging techniques to improve the understanding of vascular biology and cardiovascular pathology, advance cardiovascular disease prognostication and characterise the in-vivo effects of novel and established cardiovascular therapeutics.
Following completion of his PhD at The University of Western Australia in 2022, Dr Bellinge was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and undertook postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He has led and contributed to numerous clinical and translational imaging studies, attracting competitive funding and publishing in leading journals within the fields of molecular imaging and cardiovascular medicine. Dr Bellinge is committed to mentoring research students and junior clinicians and to supporting local investigator-initiated research utilising molecular imaging.
As Head of the Cardiovascular Science & Diabetes Program, Dr Bellinge aims to bring together Western Australia’s cardiovascular research and clinical communities around a shared vision for research excellence and clinical impact. By fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, supporting emerging researchers, and engaging consumer, clinical and industry partners, he aims to help strengthen the state’s research output and accelerate its translation into improved patient care.
