Harry Perkins Institute’s Director, Professor Peter Leedman AO, spoke to ABC Mornings’ Nadia Mitsopoulos following the announcement of the WA Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
On Sunday 27 March 2022, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research that the Federal Government will commit $375 million to support a new $750 million, truly comprehensive WA Cancer Centre.
The new centre, being developed by the Perkins will include world-first cancer prevention and treatment, WA-based global cancer research facilities, world-leading clinical trials, holistic supportive treatment therapies, an integrated and dedicated intensive care unit as well as new hospital beds solely for cancer patients all in one location.
