Senior Graphic Designer

The Perkins is seeking an innovative Senior Graphic Designer to work with our Community Engagement team and be responsible for crafting compelling and impactful designs that convey our brand and message to wider audiences. This position is offered on a full time permanent basis and is located at our state-of the-art medical research facilities in Nedlands.

About this role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Community, the Senior Graphic Designer will create innovative and appealing graphic designs for a variety of platforms to effectively convey the importance of supporting medical research and the impact it has on our families. This role will work closely with the broader communications and fundraising teams to produce designs which communicate the Perkins vision of improving health outcomes globally, and inspire the community to get involved.

This role would suit someone who has had significant graphic design experience, is passionate about design and branding, and is keen to inspire with the fresh ideas they bring to the table.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. degree in graphic design, visual communication, or similar), or equivalent knowledge gained through education, training and/or experience
  • Previous experience working as a Graphic Designer
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with web design tools and platforms
  • Knowledge of how branding and marketing principles apply to design, particularly in a nonprofit environment
  • Extensive photographic, video and editing skills
  • A strong understanding of printing and finishing methods to produce high quality, print-ready artwork
  • The ability to clearly articulate design concepts and rationales, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams within the organisation
  • High attention to detail to ensure that all designs and communications represent the organisation professionally and accurately to build brand trust and credibility
  • Experience with managing projects from end to end
  • Experience with providing leadership, mentorship and guidance to other graphic designers
