Media Production Manager

The Perkins is seeking a an experienced and detail-driven Media Production Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality media production services that enable world-class medical research. This position is offered on a permanent basis located at our state-of the-art medical research facilities in Nedlands.

About this role

Reporting to the Research Operations Manager, the Media Production Manager is responsible for leading the Media Production Facility and ensuring the reliable supply of high-quality media and biological solutions to support research activities.

You will oversee laboratory operations, maintain compliance with GLP and WHS requirements, provide technical expertise to researchers, and drive continuous improvement across media production systems and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate the Media Production Facility to meet research service requirements
  • Lead and develop the Laboratory Assistant, providing coaching, feedback and performance support
  • Develop, maintain and govern SOPs, media recipes and laboratory protocols
  • Plan and schedule production activities to ensure continuity of supply
  • Oversee procurement, testing and vendor management of Foetal Bovine Serum
  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support to researchers
  • Ensure compliance with GLP, WHS, biohazard and quality assurance requirements
  • Monitor laboratory performance, inventory and budgets, identifying improvement opportunities

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot experimental and equipment issues
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of WHS, laboratory safety and risk management
  • Experience managing laboratory supplies, budgets and resources
  • Familiarity with Biosafety Level 2 requirements
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate
