The Perkins is seeking a strategic and technically skilled Infrastructure Lead to oversee and manage our ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and related systems. This position is permanent and based at our state-of-the-art medical research facilities in Nedlands.
About this role
Reporting to the Technology General Manager, the Infrastructure Lead is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the Perkins’ Technology systems. This role involves managing and optimising ICT infrastructure to meet both current and future needs, developing robust disaster recovery plans, and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency. The Infrastructure Lead will also collaborate with various departments to align infrastructure with Perkins’ strategic objectives and operational goals.
This role would suit someone who is proactive, solutions-oriented, and passionate about leveraging technology to support a fast-paced research environment.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Extensive experience managing ICT infrastructure, with a focus on servers, networks, and backup systems
- Strong technical skills in areas such as HP Switching (VLANs, VDOMs), VMware, Fortinet, Windows Server, Linux, Lync Telephony, and Azure
- Proven experience developing and managing disaster recovery plans and implementing risk mitigation strategies
- A solid track record in leading ICT projects from planning to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make effective decisions in high-stakes situations
