Corporate Cleaner

The Perkins is seeking a reliable, proactive and detail-oriented Corporate Cleaner to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across our facilities, ensuring a safe, professional and welcoming environment for staff, researchers and tenants. This position is offered on a full time permanent basis, located at our state-of the-art medical research facilities in Nedlands.

About this role

Reporting to the Facility Service Lead, the Corporate Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the building is cleaned in accordance with established methods, specifications and safety requirements. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Implementing established cleaning methods and practices in line with cleaning specifications
  • Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors and spot cleaning carpeted areas
  • Operating electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines
  • Emptying waste bins and transporting waste to designated collection points
  • Replenishing consumables including soap, toilet paper and paper towels
  • Cleaning shared facilities including kitchens, bathrooms and amenities
  • Reporting hazards or issues affecting service delivery to the supervisor
  • Ensuring chemicals, equipment and materials are used and stored safely and compliantly.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a similar cleaning role (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow procedures and adhere to safe work practices
  • Sound verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Physical capability to perform cleaning duties including standing, walking, bending and lifting
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required for appointment.
