Protein Chemistry

For teachers wanting to improve their knowledge of molecular structure and function of Proteins.

A great opportunity for Chemistry Teachers to immerse themselves in our proteins workshop.

Spend an interactive session exploring the primary, secondary and tertiary structure of proteins. This includes understanding the formation of zwitterions and the role of functional groups. Head to the lab for an investigation of antibiotic resistance using protein gel electrophoresis techniques. Conduct an analysis of protein structure using the PDB and molecular visualisation software.

Your session includes:

  • interactive exploration of the primary, secondary and tertiary structure of proteins
  • understanding the formation of zwitterions and the role of functional groups
  • an investigation of antibiotic resistance using protein gel electrophoresis techniques
  • conduct an analysis of protein structure using the same program biochemists use.
