Enter the word of research laboratories, and develop hands-on experience working with contemporary biomedical tools and techniques.
Designed for MSL30122 Certificate III in Laboratory Skills
$50 per student per day (minimum 20 students)
Maximum 32 students
Please note: This activity is designed to support students enrolled in Certificate III: Laboratory Skills to explore a research work environment.
This activity is not an accredited Certificate III course.
Over three days, students will explore the facilities of a research laboratory.
Students will practice fundamental techniques, such as aseptic technique; how to identify and manage biological, chemical and physical hazards; and conduct risk assessment and incident reporting. Students will apply this knowledge to bacteriology, preparing materials and reagents to grow bacterial colonies in a way that maintains sterility and safety of their environment. From this, students will perform a range of microscopic and biochemical techniques to identify their bacterial colonies.
MSL30122 Certificate III in Laboratory Skills Competencies
