Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research
The Perkins conducts innovative research into the diseases that most affect families in the WA community and the world at large. We have grown to become one of the nation’s leading medical research centres, working to defeat the major diseases that impact our community – diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes and rare genetic diseases.

We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s first healers and scientists of this land. Their collaborative wisdom, culture, and traditions have nurtured this land and its people for tens of thousands of years, and they inspire our mission to improve community health and keep families together for longer.

Purpose
We are seeking to commission a WA based First Nations artist to create an original digital artwork for our first Reconciliation Action Plan.

One artist will be selected to create a digital artwork which will be featured in Perkin’s first Reconciliation Action Plan.

Perkins invites expressions of interest from an artist or creative First Nations person/s who wishes to be considered for this exciting project. Submissions will be reviewed by members of the RAP working group.

Artwork Brief
The artwork will reflect a story of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first healers and scientists of this land.

Artwork Format
The artwork should be provided in a PNG or TIFF format, minimum 2000 x 1200 px and 300dpi.

Fee
The selected artist will receive a total fee of $3,000 for their artwork.
