PhD student
Costerwell Khyriem
Profile
Costerwell has an extensive background in computational genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics. He brings with him eight years of bioinformatics experience in analyzing sequencing data produced from a variety of the NGS based molecular techniques like WGS, WXS, ChIP-Seq, Hi-C, 16S RNA-Seq, RNA-Seq, microarray, Hi-C, and Single Cell sequencing. Overall, his research experience encompasses the exploration of pathogenic alterations leading to cancer progression, chemoresistance and persistence.
He is interested in investigating the interplay between immune system and tumor, particularly, the mechanism by which tumor cells achieve immunologic ignorance. Currently, he is focused in understanding the development of immune exhaustion in metastasized tumor and the oncofetal reprogramming which would occur in such a condition
