Futures of Disease

(New)

For Biology & Human Biology Teachers

DATE: November 15, 2024

For teachers looking to expand their understanding of the role of human systems, and how their interactions are critical for understanding human health and disease. The program uses case studies to help teachers apply core curriculum content found in Biology Units 2, and Human Biology Units 1 & 3, to contemporary Western Australian medical research to build greater understandings of diseases and novel treatments.

Using these case studies, teachers bring greater relevance to the curriculum to their classrooms, develop conventional laboratory skills used to study these diseases, and showcase to students the role of these curricular points in work conducted in Western Australian medical research and practice.
