Business Development Officer (Genomics WA)

Genomics WA is on the look-out for a dynamic Business Development Officer to drive business growth and strengthen partnerships. This role combines marketing, stakeholder engagement, and science communication to connect world-class genomics services with academic and commercial clients.

This position is offered on a full-time maximum term contract for 3 years, located at our state-of the-art laboratories in Nedlands.

About this role

Reporting to the Director of Genomics WA, this role will focus on expanding the reach and reputation of our services by developing and executing outreach strategies. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Implementing marketing and business development strategies
  • Identifying and engaging with new clients in the academic and commercial sectors
  • Creating content for website, newsletters, and social media
  • Managing website and social media accounts
  • Organising and representing Genomics WA at events and presentations
  • Collaborating with internal teams to prepare quotations and promotional material
  • Gathering and reporting on client feedback and performance data
  • Liaising with vendors and funding partners to support outreach activities

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Qualifications and demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or business development
  • Knowledge of genomics or experience in marketing science-based services
  • Proven ability to simplify complex topics for broader audiences
  • Experience in managing digital platforms and campaigns
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
