Further to the Federal Government commitment of $375M to establish the Perkins-led WA Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the Government has been consulting with stakeholders to develop the Australian Cancer Plan. This is a 10-year plan to provide long lasting change and improve outcomes for all people affected by cancer.
The draft Australian Cancer Plan is now open for public consultation—it’s your turn to have a say. The online survey outlines the vision and strategies for the Australian Cancer Plan. By sharing your opinion about the Plan, and your powerful personal experiences with cancer here in WA, you’ll be helping to reinforce just how important it is that Western Australia has its own Comprehensive Cancer Centre which puts the patient at the centre of treatment plans, and is accessible to all West Australians.
Many of the aims of the Australian Cancer Plan align closely with the Perkins plans to establish a Comprehensive Cancer Centre right here in Perth, to provide the best treatment for all West Australians. The Plan acknowledges the very best quality care will come from a national network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres and recognises the role of research in delivering best patient outcomes.
All those impacted by cancer and with a view on the Australian Cancer Plan are encouraged to participate in the consultation period, which will be open until December 16. For more information, visit the hub: ACP Engagement Hub.
